HOME ROW FUN

KEYBOARDING

  1. Correct keyboard position
    1. Fingers are curved and upright; wrists are low.
    2. Forearms are parallel to the slant of the keyboard.
    3. Body is erect, seated back in chair.
    4. Feet are on the floor.
  2. Home row position. Intoduce the location of the home row keys on the keyboard and explain the meaning of home row.
  3. Hand and finger positions. 
    Left hand- 4th finger (pinky)- letter A
           3rd finger (ring)- letter S
           2nd finger (middle)- letter D
           1st finger (index)- letter F
           left thumb is on space bar

Right hand-4th finger- ; (semi colon)
           3rd finger- letter L
           2nd finger- letter K
           1st finger- letter J
           right thumb- is on the space bar
Mention again that fingers are well-curved, the body is seated upright, and the keys are pressed lightly.
INSTRUCTIONS: Type each line below using correct fingers and handpositions. When you come to one of the pictures below change the font accordingly.
